Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress singer and dancer. Early Broadway parts are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of the majority of her career working alongside renowned actors and directors across stage film and television and she will continue that project with various upcoming ones. Ashford will be next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani, on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently in production for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream through Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway return will take place on March 20, 2023. He plays alongside Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who created Hamilton is directing the production. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as the central figure in the country's First Impeachment Proceedings during the Over an Century. For two seasons, she played a prominent role in CBS's hit series B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway was awarded both Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in her role in the role of Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde is among her other Broadway credits. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford is now dividing the time in Los Angeles and New York.
